Goolhi Station, Block K
Goolhi Station was a sheep run in central western New South Wales. In 1949 it was subdivided into soldier settlement farming blocks. Pat Sweet's father won Block K in a ballot and took his family to farm the 1500 acres.
Pat made the photographs in this exhibition in two series, 50 years apart. The early ones were taken in the late 1950s with a Baby Brownie, the later ones from 2006 to 2009 with a modern camera. The images evoke memories of childhood and a sense of the disconnect between couuntry and city.
