Three Dimensions at Smith & Hall

Three Dimensions highlights the work of three internationally recognised contemporary Sydney artists, each working in their own unique and individual fashion.

Maree Azzopardi uses the figure and the Australian landscape as a metaphor for the exploration of her own emotional journey and the internal dialogues that come with her personal life experience.

Roman born British artist Renato Grome's highly considered and seductive focus on beautiful detail challenges our perception of what is 'real'. On one level we see a contemporary image yet on another an acute awareness of the classical.

Australian born, John McRae uses chance and circumstance to capture the essence of emotion within his work whilst using a staged documentary style. McRae creates images expressing sensuality and sexuality often portraying a sense of freedom and hope. Three very unique approaches to image making, three complex dimensions.
